'You want Philly Philly?': Remembering Nick Foles and the Philly Special in Super Bowl 52

  • NFL Eagles Bears v Buccaneers Bears Buccaneers American Football

Nick Foles approached Doug Pederson with a question that could decide the Philadelphia Eagles' season: "You want Philly Philly?" Pederson answered in the affirmative, and unlike with most NFL play calls, Foles only had two words to say in this offensive huddle: "Philly Special."

Moments later, after shifting out from under center and looking irrelevant to the play, Foles sprinted toward the right side of the end zone as Trey Burton lofted the ball his way. Foles reeled it in for a 1-yard receiving touchdown, giving Philadelphia a 10-point halftime lead over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII. The Eagles went on to beat Tom Brady and the Pats, 41-33, to claim the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

What channel is Patriots vs. Rams on today? Schedule, time for 'Thursday Night Football' in Week 14

  • NFL Rams v Patriots Patriots Rams American Football

The Patriots and Cam Newton take on Jared Goff and the Rams on "Thursday Night Football" for the first meeting between these teams since Super Bowl 53.

New England (6-6) was victorious that day, of course, behind the leadership of Tom Brady, who's nowhere near this matchup in 2020. Los Angeles (8-4) is leading the NFC West by virtue of tiebreaker, meaning L.A. controls its own destiny down the stretch while the Pats try to use a 45-0 win in Week 13 as a springboard to a late playoff push.

This game could come down to how the Patriots handle Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods. If they both have big receiving days (which has been happening a lot lately, as Goff has thrown for 300-plus yards in four of his last five contests), the Rams will be tough to beat.

Chargers receiver Mike Williams shows off hands on defense with game-sealing interception

  • NFL Chargers Chargers v Broncos Broncos American Football

Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams is known for making spectacular catches. Normally, though, he's doing it for the Los Angeles offense.

Williams' latest leaping grab sealed the Chargers' 19-16 win over the Broncos in Week 16 in the form of an interception. Denver was lined up to throw a Hail Mary pass, so Williams was inserted to line up along the goal line and use his athleticism to seal the win. When Drew Lock chucked the ball down the field, Williams was waiting.

Does Tom Brady have kids? How old, how many & more to know about Bucs QB's children

  • NFL Buccaneers v Chiefs Chiefs Buccaneers American Football

Tom Brady's gotten into a pretty good habit — when he wins a Super Bowl, he lets his kids hold the Lombardi Trophy.

When your father's a six-time Super Bowl champion quarterback, it just means a few more chances with the silver prize than basically anyone else. Past photographs of Super Bowl parades through the streets of Boston show Brady holding a child holding the trophy.

More recently, Brady went viral for a postgame hug with one of his sons after the Buccaneers advanced to Super Bowl 55 to face the Chiefs.

Aside from the whole football G.O.A.T. thing, though, Brady has some of the same fatherly concerns as anyone else.

“Jack is just like me — he holds a lot in," Brady said, according to The Sun. "Benny lets it all out. Vivi, she doesn’t care. They’re going to be their own selves, not who you want them to be.”

Titans schedule 2021: Dates & times for all 17 games, strength of schedule, final record prediction

  • NFL Titans American Football

The 2020 season marked the first time since 2015 that the Titans failed to finish the season with a record of exactly 9-7. In '20, they were better, and they rode Derrick Henry and Ryan Tannehill to an AFC South title. Will they be able to repeat as division champs?

While the Titans have added some talent, they have also lost a handful of important players. They also gave up on their 2020 first-round draft pick, Isaiah Wilson, amid off-the-field issues. He is now out of the league.

So, the Titans have some holes — but that hasn't stopped them from having success. Their defense, in particular, hasn't been great the last couple of years, yet they still managed to make the AFC Championship Game in '19 and won the AFC South in '20. That's thanks, in part, to their good coaching staff — as well as each team in their division having some sort of glaring weakness.

Will that be the same in '21? It's hard to say. But what we do know is that the Titans have a tough schedule highlighted by matchups with every NFC West team and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Here is a complete breakdown of the Titans’ 2021 schedule, including dates, start times and analysis for all 17 games.

Mark Jackson offers support of rookie coach Jason Kidd

  • NBA

Jason Kidd's rookie season as coach of the Brooklyn Nets has garnered serious scrutiny, with much of it self-inflicted.

As a result, the Hall of Famer's reputation as a great basketball mind has taken a serious hit. But Golden State coach Mark Jackson, a former player who took the same path to coaching as Kidd, doesn't see it the way many in the public might.

Jackson offered serious support of Kidd, and addressed issues Kidd faced with assistant coach Lawrence Frank.

"Everybody has to know who's in charge, and that's the head coach," Jackson said, according to Newsday.com. "He's the guy calling the shots. I've never seen anyone of the Pips try to lead. That's Gladys' role. Let Gladys be Gladys."

Jackson and Kidd have been in contact throughout the Nets coach's first season, according to Newsday. Jackson appeared confounded with the reaction from Kidd's decision to "reassign" Frank to writing daily reports.

"To me, I think too much was made of it," Jackson said. "I think it's clownish. There's no difference of opinions with my staff and I. We give suggestions, some I go with, some I don't. But at the end of the day, it's my decision, and we are united in whichever way we decide to go. If you have a problem with that, then you should not be my assistant coach.

" . . . So, I'm just disappointed in the way it was handled, and how much credit is given to a head coach and how much fault is given.
